Deepak Lubana Elected President of Chandigarh Youth Congress in Thrilling Election Victory
In a momentous shift for the Chandigarh Youth Congress, Deepak Lubana has emerged as the new president, triumphing over well-known sitting councillor Sachin Galav by a solid margin of 700 votes. The result, announced during a crucial meeting in Delhi on Saturday, marks a significant chapter for Lubana and the Gabi group he represents, stirring enthusiasm among his supporters and colleagues in the political arena.
Deepak Lubana clinched his position with an impressive tally of 11,259 votes, while Galav trailed behind at 10,573 votes. This victory is a testament to Lubana’s determination and a reflection of the popular support he has garnered since joining the political fray in 2019. Though he faced challenges in previous elections, his persistent efforts and affiliation with the Gabi group have finally paid off.
The Gabi group, established by Gurpreet Gabi, who was the inaugural president of the Chandigarh Youth Congress back in 2010, continues to wield significant influence. Gabi, now serving as the vice-president of Chandigarh Congress and a councillor for Ward 34, laid a strong foundation that has seen his faction dominate recent elections. In this latest round, the Gabi group not only secured the presidency with Lubana but also claimed victory in a remarkable four out of five district president positions, as well as nine out of sixteen general secretary roles, two vice-presidential slots, and 19 ward president positions. Talk about taking the cake!
Deepak’s roots trace back to Kishangarh in Chandigarh, where he grew up before diving into the world of politics. His initial foray in 2019 didn’t go as planned, but he continued to hone his skills and stay active in the political landscape. Interestingly, he’s also a former UPSC aspirant, having cleared the prelims during his preparation, showcasing a diverse range of capabilities beyond politics.
This election isn’t just a personal victory for Lubana; it’s indicative of a broader shift within the Chandigarh Youth Congress, aligned with the influential Gabi faction. Enthusiasts are buzzing as they await the new changes and projects Lubana has promised to bring to the table. With such a strong backing and a clear agenda, he might just be the catalyst for revitalizing the Youth Congress in Chandigarh.
As the new president, Deepak Lubana now faces the challenge of uniting the party and addressing the concerns of the youth in the region. His supporters are optimistic, hopeful that his leadership will usher in innovative ideas and solutions, drawing from his experiences and the legacy of the Gabi group.
With this leadership change, the Chandigarh Youth Congress is on the cusp of a transformation. As Deepak Lubana steps into this pivotal role, all eyes will be on him to deliver results and steer the youth Congress into the future. Congratulations, Deepak! The journey has just begun.
