Haryana Election Results 2024 LIVE Updates: CM Saini Meets PM Modi Following BJP’s Historic Victory in the State

Haryana Election Results 2024: BJP Secures Historic Victory, CM Saini to Meet Party Leaders

In a stunning turn of events, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has clinched a decisive victory in the Haryana Assembly elections, securing 48 seats out of 90, while the Congress party managed to win 37 seats. This marks a historic third consecutive term for the BJP in Haryana, a feat that has not been achieved since the state’s formation in 1966.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is set to meet with senior BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, October 9, to discuss the party’s strategy moving forward and key decisions regarding cabinet formation. This meeting comes just a day after the election results were announced, and Saini is expected to outline the next steps for his administration.

In the previous 2019 elections, the BJP had struggled to secure a majority, winning only 40 seats but managing to form a coalition government with the support of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) and a few Independent MLAs. The current election results, however, reflect a significant shift in voter sentiment, with the BJP achieving a clear majority this time around.

Prime Minister Modi addressed party workers at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, celebrating the victory and emphasizing the importance of good governance and development. "For the first time, a government has been formed in Haryana after completing two terms of five years each," he stated, highlighting the significance of this achievement.

Among the notable winners in the Haryana elections were wrestler and Congress leader Vinesh Phogat, who won from the Julana seat, and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who retained his seat in Garhi Sampla-Kiloi. Independent candidate Savitri Jindal also made headlines with her victory, alongside CM Saini, who won from the Ladwa seat by a margin of over 16,000 votes.

The election saw fierce competition among several parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the JJP, and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD). Despite the BJP’s victory, the Congress party experienced a notable increase in its vote share, garnering 39.09% of the votes compared to the BJP’s 39.94%. This close vote share indicates that the political landscape in Haryana remains competitive.

As the dust settles on the election results, various political leaders are reflecting on the implications of the outcome. BJP leader Babita Phogat praised CM Saini’s leadership and criticized the opposition for spreading misinformation. Meanwhile, Congress leaders, including DK Suresh and Rahul Gandhi, acknowledged the party’s overconfidence and the need for introspection following their defeat.

The Haryana election results are not just a victory for the BJP but also a critical moment for the Congress party, which must now reassess its strategies and alliances moving forward. As CM Saini prepares for his meeting with party leaders, all eyes will be on how the BJP plans to govern and address the concerns of Haryana’s electorate in the coming years.

Stay tuned for more updates as the political landscape in Haryana continues to evolve following this historic election.
